Privacy Policy
Shem72 collects no personal data and has no account. This page explains what stays on your phone, and the few moments anything leaves it.
The short version. Shem72 has no account, no cloud, and no analytics. It does not track you, does not profile you, and does not show ads. Your practice — favourites, notes, journal entries, streaks, sessions, custom names and scans — is written to a database on your own phone and never leaves it. Delete the app and it is all gone.
Who is responsible
BLVCK STUDIOS (Belgium) is the data controller for Shem72 and for https://shem72.blvckstudios.com. Contact: shem72@apps.blvckstudios.com.
What stays on your device
All of the following is stored locally, in a SQLite database and in the app's own preference storage. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else, and we have no way to read it.
- Practice history
- Sessions you have scanned, completions, streaks, and statistics.
- Your writing
- Journal entries and notes from the gates, challenges, and inquiries.
- Your configuration
- Favourites, custom Hebrew names, custom scan rituals, theme, defaults, and reminder schedules.
- Approximate location
- If, and only if, you grant location access for the angel wheel. The coordinate and a place label are saved locally so you are not asked again, and are used solely to compute local sunrise and sunset for the current planetary hour. The calculation happens on the device. The coordinate is never transmitted. Clear it any time in Settings → Angel of the Day, or revoke the permission in your phone's own settings.
- Premium status
- A local flag recording that Premium is unlocked, and whether it came from a purchase or an access code.
What we do not do
- No user accounts, logins, or passwords — there is nothing to sign into.
- No analytics or telemetry SDK. We do not know which screens you open or how often you practise.
- No advertising, no ad identifiers, no cross-app or cross-site tracking, and no App Tracking Transparency prompt, because we do not track.
- No selling or sharing of personal data. Ever, for any price.
- No access to your contacts, photos, microphone, calendar, or health data.
The few times anything leaves your phone
Buying or restoring Premium
The purchase itself is carried out by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies; we never see your payment details or your billing address. Purchase state may be validated through RevenueCat, Inc., acting as our processor, which receives a pseudonymous app-generated identifier and the store's receipt so it can confirm that Premium is owned. It does not receive your name, your email address, or anything from your practice.
Emailing support
If you write to us, or use Settings → Support & Feedback, your message opens in your own mail app. We then hold whatever you chose to send — your email address, your message, and the app version and platform the app attaches for you — for as long as needed to answer you and to keep a record of the issue, and no longer than three years.
App updates
The app checks for over-the-air content updates through Expo's update service. That request carries technical information only: app version, platform, and an update channel. It carries nothing about you and nothing from your practice.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally by your device. There is no push server, so no notification token is created and nothing about your schedule is transmitted.
The website
https://shem72.blvckstudios.com is hosted on Netlify, which processes standard server request logs (IP address, user agent, page requested) to serve the site and protect it from abuse. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the request. The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is sent to MailerLite to deliver it, on the basis of your consent; every email has an unsubscribe link and you can ask us to erase you at any time.
Legal bases (GDPR)
- Contract — processing a purchase and keeping Premium unlocked.
- Consent — location access, notifications, and the newsletter. Each is optional and each can be withdrawn without losing the rest of the app.
- Legitimate interests — answering your support email, keeping the app and site secure and working.
Children
Shem72 is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. The only personal data the app can send is a newsletter email address, and only if someone types one in. If you believe a child has sent us something by email or subscribed, write to us and we will delete it.
Your rights
If you are in the EU or the UK you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, to object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority — in Belgium, the Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be). If you are in California you have comparable rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.
In practice, the data you most likely want gone is on your own device, and deleting the app deletes it. For anything we hold — a support email, a newsletter subscription — write to shem72@apps.blvckstudios.com and we will act within 30 days.
International transfers
Our processors (Netlify, MailerLite, RevenueCat, Expo, Apple, Google) may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.
Security
The strongest protection here is architectural: data that never leaves your phone cannot be breached on our side, because there is no server holding it. On-device storage is protected by your device's own encryption and passcode. Traffic to the website and to our processors is encrypted in transit.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it, and anything material will be called out in the app's release notes.
